Scarlet Bee Balm dried leaves - Monarda didyma
As with most species in the Monarda genus, the leaves of Scarlet Bee Balm have traditionally been used in teas and herbal remedies. One such application is why these plants are called Bee Balms: the plant resin has been used to alleviate the pain and discomfort of bee stings.
This plant is also commonly dubbed Red Beebalm, Oswego Tea, Red Bergamot, or Crimson Bee Balm.
Dried scarlet bee balm (Monarda didyma) can be used for various purposes, including tea, flavoring, and potpourri. The dried leaves and flowers can be used to make aromatic teas, and the leaves can be used as a substitute for dried oregano or thyme in cooking. Dried bee balm is also suitable for use in potpourri due to its minty odor.
The dried or fresh leaves are wonderful scattered into a salad or sprinkled on just about anything. Mixed with a hot cup of water, the dried flower petals can make a nice tea
